What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe, effective exfoliating procedure that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to remove the top-most layer of dead skin and soft facial hair. Dermaplaning is a remarkable treatment option for people who want to see the following results from their complexion:
- Smoother, more radiant skin
- Enhances the luminescence of skin
- Improves the skin’s texture & tone
- Removes soft facial hair (peach fuzz) & dead skin
- Diminishes the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
- Reduces the appearance of acne scars
Dermaplaning is not recommended for individuals with acne or open wounds.
Does dermaplaning increase hair growth on the face?
No, dermaplaning will not increase hair growth as you are not affecting the actual hair follicle and the hair cycle remains regulated by cells deep within each hair follicle.
How many dermaplane sessions are required to see results?
Typically, you will benefit from a course of at least 4 treatments three to four weeks apart but will see immediate improvement with your first facial. For best results, we recommend monthly facials with dermaplaning.
Recovery time
Dermaplaning has instant results with almost no downtime.
Your skin may be sensitive post-procedure, so you should protect your skin with SPF 30 sunscreen or higher to protect against hyperpigmentation. Include a gentle moisturizer, hyaluronic serum, and post-peel balm in your skincare regimen if you don’t already to help repair your skin and keep it hydrated.
After dermaplaning is done once, am I committed to it for the rest of my life?
No, your vellus hairs will grow back and will look just as they did before you started.
Do I need to still wax if I dermaplane?
No, there is no more need to wax as the dermaplaning uses a surgical scalpel that shaves closer than a razor.
